A home office with the works
Working from home works best when an office is as organized as it is inspired. Kadija Howes wanted both—for her, “inspiring” meant fresh and airy, with touches of blue and gold, and “organized” meant hidden storage to conceal items like her safe. She also imagined a desk facing the windows so she could look outside while working. To bring this vision to life, she turned to California Closets Austin for help.
How California Closets did it
Working with design consultant Mariana Rivera, Kadija discussed her full wishlist. Once Mariana had the big picture, she put the plan in action. She designed a wall-to-wall unit featuring an artful mix of cubbies, cabinets, and drawers to cover both open and closed storage, and added a desk extension to sit directly across from the window. Soft shades of linen and blue-green accented with gold hardware capture Kadija’s desired aesthetic. Plus, extra cabinetry beneath the desk provides the perfect hiding spot for valuables, like her safe.
Final result
A sophisticated office space that serves Kadija’s every wish. With shelves beautifully styled and storage smartly designed, every inch is efficiently used so Kadija can focus on work—all while enjoying her outdoor view.
