Paris meets Manhattan for SNL star Chloe Fineman

What Chloe Fineman wanted
Saturday Night Live superstar Chloe Fineman is no stranger to a wardrobe change. From quick ins-and-outs between sketches to appearing in campaigns for beloved fashion brands like La Ligne, Mother, and Birkenstock, her fashion sense is as impeccable as her comedic timing.
But even while her New York City apartment was enviable, its closet space was not. Tucked in the West Village, the space boasts original exposed brick, grand crown moldings, and all the Pre-War charm that comes with so many historic Manhattan buildings. And yet, her romantic style and Parisian-inspired decor couldn’t erase the tough truths of small-space living and the clutter that began to cramp her style. That is, until Chloe tapped California Closets New York to help.

“Chloe was looking for a creative way to maximize her wardrobe storage, but didn't want to feel like she was living inside a closet!”
Kelly Parham
How California Closets designed it
California Closets designer Kelly Parham worked quickly, taking a meticulous inventory of Chloe’s overfilled, tiny closets, which included a tricky, cave-like space under the stairs with an angled ceiling. Even though Kelly found ways to optimize all the existing closets, the perfect solution wasn’t inside. Instead, Kelly reimagined an empty living room wall as a custom wardrobe. What started as a goal to eliminate rolling racks in the kitchen resulted in a chic, built-in design personalized with exacting adjustable shelves for Chloe’s many bags and shoes, and artful details like Ecoresin doors and leather-wrapped hanging poles.

“Chloe has a great design eye and a clear sense of what she loves. Her space feels roomier and even homier.”

Every detail of Chloe’s wardrobe is intentionally designed to complement her space and function just as effortlessly in her busy everyday life. Though small, now fully optimized closets and a custom wardrobe make it easier for Chloe to appreciate her fashion finds and her beloved apartment – and all with a sense of humor.
